Hi, I'm Lauren!
Hi, I'm Lauren!
I'm a freelance Social Media Creative, and I've always loved creating things.
I was born in Ireland, and my love for content creation started long before I ever thought of it as a career. I was obsessed with YouTube and, at one point, even had my own account where I made a variety of videos. I loved the whole process of it. Having an idea, filming it, figuring out how to make it interesting and then putting it out into the world.
That eventually led me into acting, where I studied at the University of Plymouth and graduated with a First Class Honours. Acting taught me so much about people and audiences. You quickly learn that it is not just about what you want to say, but also how someone else is going to receive it. That's stuck with me and is something I bring into everything I create.
During and after my studies, I found myself getting involved behind the camera too. I designed posters and worked on content shoots for performances at Plymouth's House Theatre. Soon after, I became Marketing Manager and Social Strategist for Mayfest, a local creative arts festival. I lead brainstorms and ideation phases for trend-based social media content planning, and then oversaw the posting.
I realised that I genuinely loved being part of the whole creative process, directing people, writing scripts, creating shot lists, and filming and editing content.
I have also worked in hospitality, which has given me a completely different perspective on content. I understand how important it is to make someone want to experience something, rather than simply telling them about it. Sometimes it is the little details, the atmosphere or the feeling you create that makes someone think “I want to be there”.
And honestly, I think being good with people is one of the biggest parts of what I do. I love meeting new people, making people feel comfortable on camera and bringing their personality into the content.
So that’s me! A creative who started out making random videos in Ireland, fell in love with acting, discovered just how much I enjoy being behind the camera, and somehow ended up combining all of those things into what I do now.
I love making things feel exciting, genuine and, most importantly, like you. Because social media should never feel like you are trying to be someone else. It should feel like the best, most creative version of what is already there.
